Description:
The project consists of the replacement of water main within the City of Burien in the District’s service area. All pipe to be installed will be to District standards, and will be replacing existing cast iron pipe of various diameters.
Identified by the District as capital improvement projects D-5 and D-8b. The project overall will be divided into four sections, designated as Schedules A through D. Schedule A will include the installation of approximately 452 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter water main, 98 lineal feet of 4- inch DI diameter water main in 13th Ave SW, and 172 lineal feet of 4-inch HDPE water main (via HDD) north of SW 158th St. Schedule B will include the installation of approximately 323 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter water main and 94 lineal feet of 4-inch diameter water main in 14th Avenue SW, south of SW 158th St. Schedule C will include the installation of approximately 401 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter water main in 25th Ave SW at SW 164th PL. Schedule D will include the installation of approximately 222 lineal feet of 4-inch diameter water main in 11th Ave SW, south of SW 166th St.
Construction will include connections to existing mains, replacement of fire hydrants, replacement or reconnection of services, valves, blowoffs, air valves and other appurtenances, as well as surface restoration; including any required asphalt restoration as dictated by City permit requirements.
