Description:
This project includes the replacement of two culverts on Williams Creek with pre-cast concrete bridges provided by the Tribe. Each bridge replacement occurs on private property and the Contractor must be willing to accommodate property Owner’s Representatives and their continued use of their property during construction. The two sites are referred to by their address, the 2010 S Machias Road Site (Upstream) and the 2226 S Machias Road Site (Downstream).

The 2010 South Machias Site includes the removal of an additional culvert (no replacement) and the re-grading of approximately 300 feet of stream re-grading to move the stream away from the foundation of the Property Owner’s Representative’s house. The work requires removal of obstructions and disposal of several private property structures in order to accommodate this work.

The following work elements are summarized below, separated by the Engineer’s assumptions on schedule, means and methods: Construction Plans are provided as Appendix A.

Work Performed includes:
1. Clearing, grubbing, and roadside cleanup including invasive species removal as needed
2. Removal of structures and obstructions including existing culverts and road fill
3. Roadway excavation and embankment
4. Structure excavation and installation, this includes the install of bridges and all associated foundational work
5. Erosion control measures in the work area
6. Stream channel realignment and excavation/design
7. Contractor designed residential deck following removal necessary for project construction
8. Large wood structure placement using post assisted log structures
9. Roadside restoration including mulching and seeding, cleanup, and project closeout and final punch list.

With the exception of Temporary Erosion Control seeding, Planting shall be performed by the Tribe.
